ipadmenu Restaurants You Might See in the Near Future with an iPad Menu & iPad POSWe are always examining the news feeds to stay abreast of the current trends in food service and in hospitality with regards to innovations that are similar to ones that we are procuring over here (all-in-one iPad POS systems and digital menu services). Today, we came across some interesting news regarding the popular sports bar and grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, and how you may just be offered an iPad menu when dining there in the near future.

According to a recent news report that was published by the Star Tribune, the large restaurant chain is testing iPad menus at select locations. If you are interesting in experiencing how this iPad POS system works in action, they have a location in Golden Valley, Oakdale and few other select “testing” locations where they are putting these digital menus into action for customers as a test to see if they will work to increase over sales tallies.

We have mentioned Aaron Allen before, because he is a very popular restaurant consultant that has helped restaurants revamp their menus and increase sales via succinct and engaging menu design. So it’s no surprise that he has a bit of expert advice to offer as to the power of the iPad menu to drive more sales to companies.

In an interview with the Star Tribune, Allen said, “Restaurant sales have decreased since the beginning of the recession. Part of the iPad’s benefit to restaurants is the novelty of it. But there haven’t been any studies yet of whether using iPads helps improve sales.”

The main goal of this restaurant chain adding the iPad menus, according to the Tribune report, is to boost overall sales by providing customers with increased control so they can order drinks and more food directly from the iPad menus, and secondly, to provide wholesome entertainment for the kids (via included children’s games and apps), which ultimately means that customers stay longer, and order more food and drinks.

Similarly, the restaurant chain, Chili’s, is also experimenting with adding iPad menus with iPad POS to their operations. In the Twin Cities, about nine different locations are playing around with these systems at the present to see if their efficacy amounts to increase sales.
